A mega cultural event titled “Commemorating Golden Days” was held recently at CIU auditorium with a view to recalling the golden past. The program was organized in association with Independent University Cultural Club (IUCC). The concept behind the name was to flash back the golden reminiscences that the students elapsed during their lifetime in the campus.
Prof. Dr. M. Ayub Islam, MBA Coordinator of Independent Business School (IBS) was present as the chief guest in the event. Among others, Asst. Prof. Robaka Shamsher of IBS, Asst. Prof. Amran Haroon of School of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Saifur Rahman of Dept. of English and Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman, Librarian & Head of Learning Service Division were also present. The chief guest, however, applauded such initiative taken by the students of CIU. He said, “Cultural practice is the part and parcel of education, which is needed to boost up the morale of the students. Such practice would help them ingrain the lesson in their mind more effectively.”
In the event, the participants recalled their golden past through the old fashioned attires, songs and dances of late 70s, 80s & 90s.
